What is Bing?
It is the search engine technology created by Microsoft and officially rebranded as Bing in July 2009.
It was originally named MSN Search and Windows Live Search.
This search engine has become a solid competitor to Google search through improvements in the technology and the results. Bing includes a Maps feature for locations and directions, and business listing information such as phone numbers and store hours.
The search results can be filtered by type, such as videos or images and you can also filter for news or shopping results.
Why does it matter?
In the US search marketing Bing and it's related sites represent nearly 25% of all searches done online. They also are heavily weighted toward the valuable 45-54 age demographic with household incomes over $100,000.
If your business is trying to capture this demo as customers, don’t forget about Bing Search or it's pay-per-click platform, Bing Ads.
